Requirements:
General, background knowledge of Asheville’s major issues, community leaders, and institutions
Knowledgeable about issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Experience leading teams, convening meetings, driving planning and collaborative work
Experienced in program design, development, and evaluation
Evidence of strong communication skills – written, public speaking, and interpersonal
Evidence of strong organizational and management skills
Additional assets:
Knowledge of issues and programmatic experience related to affordable housing
Experience in local government, nonprofit leadership, or collective impact work
Grant writing or other fundraising experience
Experience in communication and outreach
Project management skills including the development of action plans and budget management
Responsibilities:
Assist in the research, design, development, and evaluation of programs with the executive director. Currently, our work is focused on affordable housing, Housing Choice Voucher Acceptance, and sustainable tourism. Experience in these areas is highly valued.
Build strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders across a variety of issues.
Lead partners in collective impact efforts that result in long-term change.
Facilitate communication among partners and stakeholders, and the community, about the need for Thrive’s work, and our results.
Support fundraising through grant writing and reporting.
Act as part of the communications team and help Thrive build a constituency of supporters for our work.
Compensation:
We want our team to THRIVE. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $45K – $60K based on experience. Thrive employees are awarded a bonus of 10% of base salary to cover costs related to health and wellness. Thrive has a generous, flexible PTO policy. In-person and remote work is expected.
