With 4th of July just around the corner (how did that happen?), our team has been looking for ways to get outside and celebrate. The festivities this year will be a little different because of COVID-19, so weโ€™re opting to head to one of the areaโ€™s nearby lakes to soak up the sun and cool off in the water.

Weโ€™ve rounded up 13 lakes within a two-hour drive from Asheville that you can head to next weekend โ€“ or anytime. Plus, weโ€™ve included info on everything you want to know, from camping + vacation rentals to boating, swimming, fishing + more. Letโ€™s get our feet wet in these local lakes.
