Students interested in summer classes or looking to get a jump start on the fall semester still have time to enroll at UNC Asheville.

All summer classes will be offered online (due to COVID-19) with distance-learning tuition rates – which breaks down to about half the cost for in-state students. Read: A major way to save money + cut down on student loans. 💸

With 100+ online courses to choose from, current and visiting students from in-state, out-of-state or other UNC institutions can earn credits for most major programs + the Liberal Arts Core classes all students are required to complete in order to graduate. Course topics range from Global Studies and Film Appreciation to the popular Great Smokies Writing Program and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI).

Benefits of summer sessions:

  • Classes on topics that aren’t always offered during fall or spring semesters
  • Smaller class sizes allow students the chance to work closely with professors
  • Transferable credits for visiting students

There are 4 different sessions for students to choose from:

  • Summer Session I: June 8-July 2 (four weeks)
  • Summer Session II: July 6-July 31 (four weeks)
  • Summer Session III: June 8-July 17 (six weeks; perfect for STEM majors looking for courses in Chemistry and Math)
  • Summer Session IV: June 8-July 31 (eight weeks)
