  • Lions Den Gallery, a new gallery and event space branded as a “social sanctuary,” is taking over the former space of TreeRock Social Cider & Mead Bar (760 Biltmore Ave.).   • Jargon’s private event space, The Argot Room, is now open at 717 Haywood Rd. — right next to Jargon. The space can accommodate up to 50 people and is complete with a catering kitchen, dance floor, and audio + visual capabilities.

  • Local nonprofit Mountain Area Pregnancy Services (MAPS) has partnered with AdventHealth Hendersonville to bring prenatal care to the MAPS location at 1710 Old Haywood Rd. Through this partnership, MAPS clients will easily be able to schedule prenatal appointments after having their initial OB appointment on-site. (WLOS)

  • Buncombe County Animal Shelter is receiving ~13 new kittens or puppies every day, resulting in an urgent need for foster homes so that shelter space can be freed up for essential medical care. Those interested in fostering, must be at least 18. Learn more + apply. (Asheville Citizen-Times)
