  • Put your pups in the holiday spirit and support a good cause at the Howl-O-Ween Dog Party at Aloft Asheville Downtown this Sunday, Oct. 29, from 1 to 5 p.m. Furry friends can gather for a costume contest, raffles, vendors, music, and cocktails (for the humans, at least) — all to benefit Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue.
Shop
  • The final Full Moon Party of the year is getting a Halloween makeover. This Saturday, Oct. 28 from 7:30 p.m. to 12 a.m., the Hunter’s Moon will light up the night, and vendors will set up at Wedge Brewing to offer tarot + human design readings, crystals, candles, jewelry, art, and glass pumpkins. Costumes are encouraged.
Sports

Asked

Which local trick-or-treat spot has the best candy haul?

That could be a neighborhood that always stocks full-size bars, a local business that gives out the choicest candies, or an event that beats traditional trick-or-treating.

We also won’t judge if your answer is “the grocery store on Nov. 1.”

Last week, we presented a friendly confection competition, asking for your best guesses for the number of candy corn pieces in this jar. Now, that number can be revealed...

394.

Although we didn’t have any exact guesses, we did have two readers who were only a couple pieces away from perfect. We’ll be splitting the jar then reaching out via email or Instagram to our winners so they can claim their candy prize.
