Located on the property of a nonprofit animal rescue, dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, and goats roam the four-acre grounds. The host says that they love hosting pet swims and parties, so bring your four-legged friend to join the fun.
This pool won’t be available to rent until Sunday, Aug. 31, but it’s perfect for a big, end-of-summer blowout, complete with a hot tub, pickleball court, basketball hoop, fire pit, and cornhole and ladder toss games.

Opening
The municipal pool at Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center will reopen for the holiday today, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The pool was temporarily closed for two days this week for safety and security reasons. Uniformed security staff will be on-site today and through the weekend.
Arts
Asheville Art Supply opens this morning, July 4 at 10 a.m. in the former Cheap Joe’s space. RAD artist Philip DeAngelo and his wife Tina stepped in after Cheap Joe’s announced its closure, maintaining the building’s legacy as a resource and third place for local artists.
Closing
There There, the sustainable home goods and clothing store in the RAD, will close its doors on Saturday, July 19. In an Instagram post, owners Mindy and Christopher shared that they’re closing the biz to focus on their rapidly growing interior design business.
Sports
Tomorrow, July 5, the first 1,000 fans to enter McCormick Field for the Tourists game will get a free Asheville Snot Otters jersey. The free swag nods to the Eastern Hellbender, some of the world’s largest salamanders, that are found in the rivers of WNC. Grab tickets to tomorrow’s game.
Drink
The owner of TRVE Brewing announced on social media that they are closing their Asheville and Denver taprooms, writing, “It hasn’t been an easy choice, but this brewery has run its course.” The heavy metal brewery will pour its last beers in the South Slope taproom on Saturday, July 12.

On Tuesday, July 8, Buncombe County Special Collections is hosting a screening of “Come Hell or High Water: Remembering the Great Flood of 1916,” inviting director David Weintraub for a post-viewing discussion. The event is part of the library’s Helene memory project, which you can contribute to.
