Music Video Asheville has been on repeat for 17 years now, showcasing the creative collaboration between our city’s musicians and filmmakers. And you can see the musical magic unfold on the big screen on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts.
After walking the “Asheville-style” red carpet, settle in for a screening of 25 music videos chosen from a panel of 30 industry professionals. Beyond bestowing awards for categories including Best Director and Best Music Production, the panel will crown a Judge’s Choice winner, earning a $500 cash prize.
Then, here’s where you come in. The audience will select a People’s Choice winner via text-to-vote, securing the artist 18 hours of local studio time and 100 vinyl records.
Is the next “Thriller” from an Asheville artist? You’ll have to go to find out — general admission tickets are $25.

Ohio-based Indie folk band Caamp was in town last Thursday for a sold-out show at Asheville Yards — but on Wednesday night this week, during a pit stop between Wilmington and Nashville shows, they came back around for a much more intimate, impromptu set at Foggy Mountain Brew Pub.
Look at more photos from the acoustic set, and you’ll see that the bar filled up pretty fast after this video.
The band is known for tracks like “Vagabond” and “By and By,” but according to the audience, they also took plenty of requests. Here’s to hoping another surprise set is in Asheville’s future.
