When we visited the Columbia Museum of Art in Columbia, SC for Keith Haring: Radiant Vision, we were immersed in a world alive with color, movement, and meaning. The exhibition showcases Haring’s unmistakable style and enduring message of love and activism.

Highlights include: Text Ads
  • Vibrant drawings, silkscreens, and posters spanning his prolific career
  • Iconic imagery like radiant babies, barking dogs, and dancing figures
  • Powerful themes exploring equality, community, and hope
  • Rare pieces that capture his influence on pop culture and social change
We left inspired by how Haring turned public art into a universal language of joy and resistance. Keith Haring: Radiant Vision is on view through Feb. 15, 2026, at the Columbia Museum of Art.

Unknown number calling? It’s not random

Presented by Incogni

Using hidden cameras, the BBC caught workers at a scam call center laughing at the people they were tricking.

The disturbing truth? Scammers don’t pick phone numbers at random. They buy your data from brokers.

Once your data is out there, it’s not just calls. It’s phishing, impersonation, and identity theft.

That’s why Incogni stands out. The data removal service deletes your personal info from the web, then continuously monitors and removes new data as fresh threats emerge.

Travel

During yesterday’s Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority meeting, stats showed that hotel occupancy is up from last year, while vacation rentals are down. However, both hotel and vacation rental revenue has dropped since September 2024 and staffing shortages remain an issue. But with domestic travel trending nationally, the outlook could improve. With food needs growing across WNC, here are nine local organizations feeding the community that residents can both access and support.

BeLoved Asheville

The nonprofit has introduced the EAT Card, feeding families, students, and seniors with gift cards to local stores. You can donate to provide more funds.

BeLoved also has a network of 11 Street Pantries filled with food, toiletries, and other necessities. Volunteer to make sure they’re filled.

MANNA FoodBank

Donate shelf-stable and fresh, refrigerated, and frozen food at its Mills River warehouse. If you opt for a monetary donation, one dollar provides four meals.

MANNA serves the community with mobile markets and the food helpline — it also has a food finder tool, showing a map of local pantries with hours and contact information.

YMCA of Western North Carolina

Mobile Markets are set up as free farmers markets across five counties offering produce, demonstrations, and recipes. Volunteer opportunities include food sorting and helping out at the markets.
