After more than 80 years, the PGA Tour will return to Asheville in September 2026 with the inaugural Biltmore Championship. Co-sponsored by Biltmore Estate and Explore Asheville, the four-year agreement will keep golfers and visitors coming back to the Land of the Sky.
The four-day, nationally-televised tournament will bring 100+ players to The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, a private luxury golf community in Arden. It’s expected to draw thousands of spectators and generate millions in direct spending in the area.
To put it in perspective, NC’s most recent PGA Tour events — the Truist Championship and Wyndham Championship — generated upward of $100 million and $30 million for the state, respectively.
The Biltmore Championship will revive Asheville’s PGA legacy and mark the seventh Tour event in the city’s history. The tournament will debut Sept. 17-20, during the FedExCup Fall.
There’s a while to go before the action, but you can keep up with ticket announcements and volunteer opportunities through the Biltmore Championship newsletter (and this newsletter, of course).
