  • Pump issues

The crew will start with an inspection of your well system before moving forward with specialized care. Plus, they’ll always follow up after to ensure things are still flowing smoothly.

MB HAYNES well pump pulling crews are equipped with a specialized truck and tools to safely remove, inspect, and reinstall pumps, pipes, and wiring deep within wells.

News Notes

Opening

Village Wayside Bar and Grille’s Biltmore Village restaurant was lost to Helene, but next winter, it will make a comeback in the former Eldr location in North Asheville’s Grovewood Village. (Asheville Citizen-Times)

Cause

There’s still time to be a part of one of the area’s largest toy drives. Drop off new, unwrapped toys at the Smokey Park Highway Ingles by noon on Saturday, Dec. 6 for the items to be added to Eblen Charities’ Saint Nicholas store.

Film

This Saturday, Dec. 6, DayTrip is hosting the Tiny Film Festival, where local filmmaker Daniel Tedesco is debuting three short films — two music videos and a 10-minute film titled “Passionate Descent,” about an artist’s experience recovering from Helene. Head to the bar at 8 p.m. to see the films. (WLOS)
Pantone’s 2026 Color of the Year is... white? The “billowy white” shade called Cloud Dancer is meant to convey serenity and relaxation. Personally, it’s not doing much for us in terms of interior design inspo, but it does have us thinking about jet-setting on a flight from Asheville Regional Airport.

Pets

Your new best friend is waiting for you at Asheville Humane Society. And this weekend, during the BISSEL Empty the Shelters Adoption Event, all adoption fees will be waived and the shelter will stay open on Sunday to make sure each adorable feline fur ball and cutie canine finds a home.

Fun Fact

The unincorporated village of Cashiers has a population of just 825 people, but at least four are billionaires, including Home Depot’s co-founder and members of Nashville’s Ingram family. AmeriHealth Caritas NC has awarded $5 million to MANNA FoodBank to expand its Essential Foods Program, providing nutrient-dense foods like meat, eggs, and fresh produce to families across 16 WNC counties and the Qualla Boundary.

The investment will be paid out over several years — during the first six months, MANNA will work with its partner organizations to create more healthy local food hubs, cold space storage, and improve distribution. The following phases will support MANNA’s food purchases, aid with its post-Helene rebuild, and continue adding community food hubs with partner organizations.

Currently, MANNA FoodBank is experiencing the highest visitation in its 42-year history. Learn how you can contribute through donations and volunteer work.

The Wrap

Watchhouse is coming back to Asheville in April for its Rituals spring 2026 tour. The folk band had to reschedule a sold-out November show at The Orange Peel, but lucky for those who didn’t get tix the first time, more have been added. And of course, tickets from the OG show will be honored at the April 19 show.
