Starting tomorrow, March 26, you’ll be able to see the Biltmore in a brand new light. The Biltmore House itself will become the canvas for Luminere, a new outdoor evening art experience that projects scenes from the estate’s landscape and legacy onto the facade of the house and the gardens.
Concert
This one’s for the folk fans. Brandi Carlile is coming to town for a Wednesday, June 10 acoustic show at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, and Watchhouse and Fruit Bats are playing The Orange Peel’s new outdoor venue, Hellbender, on Saturday, July 18.

Orchids steal the spotlight

The 25th Annual Asheville Orchid Festival will be back in bloom this weekend at the NC Arboretum, beginning with a special sneak preview Friday evening.
Hosted by the WNC Orchid Society, this year’s theme is “Orchid Kingdom.” Expect to see stunning displays from both world-class growers and regional societies at this American Orchid Society-sanctioned judging event.
And beyond the educational programs, exhibits, and lectures planned for the weekend, you’ll be able to shop for orchids from on-site vendors to take a piece of the beauty back home with you. Festival admission is $5 at the door, in addition to arboretum parking fees.
The festival is just the beginning of the seasonal festivities planned for Spring Into the Arb — see what else is in store.
