It’s hard to believe that in just a few short days it will be June, and we will officially be halfway through 2021. To help us navigate the last half of this year, let’s take a look back at the businesses that have closed, opened, or are coming soon since we last updated y’all in January .

Closed:

🖥️ Charlotte Street Computers (252 Charlotte St. )

Founded in 2001, the business might continue in the future under different ownership.

🍳 Green Sage Cafe , (70 Westgate Pkwy .)

The owners closed this spot + moved all its employees to the Merrimon Ave. location.

🥪 High Test Deli & Sweet Shop , (134 Coxe Ave .)

Closed in March after 2 years, but you can still visit the Bryson City location.

🍹 The Scarlet Bee , (853 Merrimon Ave .)

Hopefully this Mediterranean eatery’s closure is only temporary as the owners look for another locale.

New:

🍛 Andaaz , (28 Hendersonville Rd .)

Fine upscale Indian fare in the former Rezaz location.

🍔 Baby Bull , (1 Roberts St .)

Decadent sandwiches from the owners of The Bull and Beggar .

🍺 Cellarist Beer Project , (395 Haywood Rd .)

Brewery and taproom featuring barrel-rested suds.

🐶 Down Dog Dog Bar & Yoga Studio , (51 Sweeten Creek Rd .)

This uber-Asheville business opened in April.

Their second spot opened in the Grove Arcade in March.

The food truck’s first brick-and-mortar space will be located inside the historic S&W Market , slated to open next month.

🍗 Buxton Chicken Palace , (56 Patton Ave .)

Elliott Moss’ fried chicken sandwiches will take center stage along with other chicken offerings.

🍸 Circa 29 , (56 Patton Ave .)

The S&W Market’s event space will offer a full bar and hold up to 150 people.

🌭 Farm Dogs , (56 Patton Ave .)

The co-founder of Farm Burger will bring elevated hot dogs to the S&W Market.

Asheville’s OG craft brewery will occupy two floors in downtown’s new S&W Market.

Come summertime, Vinnie’s will expand into the space formerly occupied by Iannucci’s Pizzeria in South Asheville.

Americana diner owned by the same folks that brought us Rosetta’s Kitchen.

🍽️ Zadie’s Market and Deli , (33 Bailey’s Branch Rd., Marshall)

The grocer’s first brick-and-mortar business will be inside the Old Marshall Jail and be helmed by five-time James Beard award finalist Chef John Fleer.
