After sitting vacant for years, the deserted Greyhound station off Tunnel Road will become a hub of activity once more — this time for mingling.

The Hound , a new bar and lounge, plans to open at 2 Tunnel Rd. on Thursday, June 22. The space is a collaboration from Zambra owner Peter Montague and proprietor of The Copper Crown, Adam Bannasch. Cozy and full of midcentury modern furniture, the indoor-outdoor setup can seat around 90 guests, with a garage door in the back that opens onto an expansive patio.

Montague and Bannasch hope it will be a spot that locals frequent for an after-work drink, nightcap, or date night. And true to its name, The Hound will allow well-behaved dogs.

Guests can expect 16 rotating taps, a wine list curated by Zambra’s sommelier, a cocktail program led by Montague, and non-alcoholic options such as mocktails and kombucha.

It’s hard to believe this spot was once a bus station.

There will also be small bar bites that showcase local food brands like Sunburst Trout, Three Graces Dairy, and The Chop Shop. For heftier meals, food truck Blue Collar Diner and Venezuelan pop-up Palmita plan to rotate in on a regular basis, as well as other options.

Interested in checking The Hound out? The grand opening party gets started at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 22 and will feature music from multi-instrumentalist duo MeHim.

The Hound’s hours are Monday-Thursday, 3-11 p.m., Friday-Saturday, 12 p.m.-12 a.m., and Sunday, 12-10 p.m.
