On April 4 at McCormick Field (home of the Asheville Tourists) the UNC Asheville Bulldogs will be taking the field for an extra-special event: Vs. Cancer Game.

Prior to the first pitch, donations will be collected for the Vs. Cancer Foundation, which funds research for pediatric brain tumors + helps make life better for kids battling cancer at local children’s hospitals. Over the past four years, UNCA has raised almost $24,000 for Mission Children’s Hospital. Those funds have helped purchase iPads + Laptops for patients to use to keep up with homework during treatments + help build a teen room.

Following the game members of UNCA’s baseball team + staff have their heads shaved in support of the cause.

The first pitch is at 6 p.m. and the Bulldogs are to play the Western Carolina Catamounts. Tickets here.
