Diwali, commonly known as the Hindu festival of lights, is considered one of India’s most important holidays.

On Mon., Oct. 24, 5:30-9 p.m. Ashevillians are invited to join the celebration with food and drink specials, homemade sweets, and dazzling floral decor at Chai Pani’s flagship location .

“Diwali celebration transcends all religions, kind of like Christmas does in America,” explains Chai Pani owner and executive chef Meherwan Irani.

“It is a celebration of light over darkness, the victory of good over evil. During Diwali in India, oil lamps illuminate the night, fireworks are going off left and right, and neighbors and families visit each other, sharing sweets, gifts, and good wishes.”

Though the menu hasn’t been released yet, visitors can expect a number of old favorites no longer available at Chai Pani, plus a gift bag of homemade sweets.
