Recently, we asked you to come up with a unique ice cream flavor that describes Asheville and utilizes one to three locally sourced ingredients. After reading all of your responses, it’s safe to say that our mouths are watering. Here were some of our favorites:

Vanilla ice cream with salted caramel from French Broad Chocolates and crumbled pretzels from Asheville Pretzel Company. Called “Keep it Local AVL.” - Donna G.

A beer flavored ice cream topped with chunks of chocolate from Asheville Chocolate, strawberries from Flying Cloud Farm, and elderberry syrup from Darby Farms. Called “Melting Pot.” - Mindy R. Wilson

Penny Cup Coffee Co. coffee ice cream topped with chunks of dark chocolate from French Broad Chocolates and dulce de leche from Folk Saints. Called “AVLtoday’s Blue Ridge Bliss.” - Mandy P.

Oat milk coffee ice cream made with Dynamite Roasting Co. coffee that’s topped with Münki Coffee Mocha Trailmix and CBD chocolate from Franny’s Farmacy. Called “Asheville Love Buzz.” - Matthew B.

Sourwood honey ice cream topped with hops from Cursus Keme, cocoa nibs from French Broad Chocolates, and patchouli flower from the Herbiary. Called “The Mountain Town Hippy.” - Mary S.

The only thing we need now is a local ice cream shop to make one of these flavors a reality. The Hop, Ultimate Ice Cream, Gospel Ice Creamwe’re looking at you.
