It’s casual cuisine done right.

Botiwalla Asheville officially opened its doors on Monday, Aug. 28. The much-anticipated West Asheville restaurant is the product of Meherwan Irani, chef and CEO of the James Beard Award-winning Chai Pani — not to mention Buxton Hall Barbecue and Spicewalla — and takes inspiration from both India’s Irani cafes (tea + kabab houses) and the country’s late-night street food scene.

The inspiration behind Botiwalla is to “bring the streets of India to life,” and its menu reflects that delicious mission. The casual fare includes okra fries and masala smashed potatoes, tikka rolls and a lamb burger, Vada Pav and Bhel Puri.

We know your mouth is watering already, so we’ll wrap it up so you can get in line. Botiwalla is at 697 Haywood Rd., and it’s open Monday-Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
