Drink. Play. Flow. That’s the philosophy behind Down Dog (51 Sweeten Creek Rd.), Asheville’s combination yoga studio, social bar, and dog park.

Despite its name, the dogs at Down Dog don’t actually practice yoga with humans. Even better: The dogs can frolic in the park while yogis practice in the studio. Non-dog owner? You don’t have to own a dog or practice yoga to grab a drink at the bar.

Here’s what to expect when you visit:

The dog bar 🍷

The thoughtfully designed bar offers a variety of beer, wine, and kombucha on tap, games for humans, and a turf area for dogs. Dogs can play off-leash both inside the bar and outside on the patio.

The dog park

This dog park might be better than your average dog park. Why? Guests register their dogs before coming to play. Down Dog verifies that each dog registered is up to date on vaccines and is fixed.

Bonus: Down Dog’s trained staff will watch over your pups while you grab a beer or take a yoga class so you can rest assured your pup is safe and having a blast. Down Dog has an outdoor and indoor area, so they’re open during all types of weather.

Yoga studio

Just like the rest of the business, Down Dog’s yoga studio has a mix of offerings to fit everyone’s experience and comfort level, with an emphasis on their core values of reflection, exploration, and community. Bonus: They offer both heated + unheated classes. See the full schedule.*
