Judge’s Choice: “Magic,” Midnight Snack

On Wednesday night, local musicians, filmmakers, and music lovers gathered for the 11th annual Music Video Asheville at the Diana Wortham Theatre. It was the first year it sold out completely. 🙌

13 judges narrowed down 86 submissions from local musicians + videographers to 27 videos, which were screened during the event. But nor without a red carpet entrance to all attendees (photographers + all).

The evening kicked off with a performance from Brie Capone and Ian Ridenhour, who tied for the Judge’s Choice award last year (they wrote a song together after co-winning). Another highlight of the event was a performance of an original song by Jeff Knorr, a local musician audio engineer + producer who passed away last year, by pianist and vocalist Jamar A. Woods.

Here’s the full list of winners:

Josh Blake, local musician and founder of video production company IAMAVL, received a Founders’ Achievement Award.
