We know that Asheville’s got talent, and Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara think so too. Local band Ashes & Arrows auditioned for “America’s Got Talent” last week, singing their original song “Born to Love,” earning three yeses from the four judges (we’re side-eyeing you, Howie Mandel), and even a standing ovation from Cowell.

The country rock trio was “born from the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, and the Alps of Arrowtown, New Zealand,” and met at an Asheville open mic in 2021. The band has been releasing original music since 2022 with the band’s newest single, “Wild Horses,” released last Friday, June 7.

To keep up with the band’s journey on “America’s Got Talent,” tune in to NBC on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. If you’re itching to see Ashes & Arrows live, you’re in luck. The band is one of hundreds of artists set to take the stage at this year’s AVLFest.
