Note: All times listed are brunch-only.
Sand Hill Kitchen | Tuesday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Wednesday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
This unassuming spot, located inside a BP gas station, boasts award-winning fare. We especially love the breakfast burrito and the biscuits and sausage gravy.
City Bakery | Monday-Saturday 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
This North Asheville bakery has been making mornings sweeter since 1999 with baked goods like muffins, croissants, and cinnamon rolls. If you’re in a savory mood, the breakfast sandwiches will also start your day on a delicious note.
Liberty House Coffee & Cafe | Monday-Sunday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Taco Billy | Tuesday-Saturday., 8 a.m.–8 p.m., Sunday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Check out the all-day breakfast tacos — we especially love Mama’s Favorite, with sausage, eggs, spinach, sweet potato, and goat cheese on a plantain tortilla.
Was it just me, or did January feel like a long month? I get this impression most years, but a lot happened in Asheville since the start of 2025 — the city got snow, the WNC Nature Center began its 100th year of operation, and four local chefs and restaurants were recognized as 2025 James Beard Award semifinalists.
