For the first day of Small Business Week, we’re shining a light on the painters, potters, jewelers, screenprinters, and woodworkers that make Asheville a work of art.
Let’s get to know some of our city’s local artists better through a virtual art crawl.

Raphaella Vaisseau has been uplifting and inspiring with her colorful landscapes since 1991 (just look at the beautiful array above). You can see some of her art in the RAD’s Trackside Studios.

FiberFestival | 12-6 p.m. | Lutheridge, Arden | Free | Celebrate the Blue Ridge Mountain fiber economy with shopping, interactive demonstrations, a community clothing swap, food, music, and more.*
Sunny Point Cafe is doing dinner every Friday and Saturday night starting on Friday, May 16. The Smoked BBQ Popup Patio Dinners will put the team’s new smoker to good use, slingin’ barbecue, sandwiches, sides, sauces, and dessert in a picnic-style setting.
Award
Four Asheville breweries brought home some hardware at the World Beer Cup last week. Diatribe, Highland, and Sierra Nevada all won gold for their Chocolate Porter, Daycation Gold, and Weizenbock, respectively. Hi-Wire is also reppin’ silver for its Hi-Wire Lager. Raise a glass to these award-winning ales.

Warren Wilson College has announced its inaugural climate summit, “Collaboration for Climate Action,” happening Friday, June 20 through Sunday, June 22. The weekend will consist of workshops, demonstrations, panel discussions, guided walks, performances, art installations, and more, all in collaboration with various local environmental groups.
