Is this how you would describe our city? “A hipster haven with a gorgeous mountain backdrop.”

It’s how Travel + Leisure described Asheville in a recent Facebook video, which currently has almost 400K views, 7.1K shares, and 1.2K comments.

And those comments? Many of them are not celebrating the video, which is a minute montage of Blue Ridge Parkway + downtown.

  • “Saying Hipster doesn’t actually make it a positive.”
  • “We’re a wee bit more than “a hipster haven” here in Asheville. We’ve got amazing restaurants, world class music and entertainment, fun shops, and amazing scenery. The “hipsters” don’t even factor in to what makes us amazing. But thanks for the shout out!”
  • “Sorry we’re full, nothing to see here...move along! Plus if all you can think of to describe Asheville as is “A Hipster Haven,” then you obviously don’t understand the magic of Asheville. #ByeFelicia!”

What do you think??
