After Helene sent nearly 25-foot floodwaters through the River Arts District, Cotton Mill Studios stood gutted, but not gone. After 16 months of remediation + rebuilding, the landmark is ready welcome visitors once again.

“Built in 1887, the Cotton Mill has survived floods, fires, and more than a century of change. Her bones are strong. She’s ready for the next hundred years,” the studio shared on social media.

The rebuild was designed with an emphasis on accessibility, adding new sidewalks, ramps, and a front deck.

Once Guajiro settles in, Cotton Mill Studios plans to host a grand reopening celebration in the fall. In the meantime, you can still get your fix of vaca frita and tostones from its food truck at Hi-Wire’s Biltmore Village brewery.
