ICYMI, NC General Assembley designated 2023 as The Year of the Trail , highlighting our state’s vast network of trails, greenways, and blueways. And our city is keeping the celebrations going with the Hellbender Regional Greenway Forum on Thursday, Aug. 31, hosted by the Land of Sky Regional Council.
From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Smoky Park Supper Club, the free event invites local residents + nature enthusiasts to discover the impact of greenways on our environment and community. The day will be filled with discussions and presentations from experts, highlighting sustainability and connectivity in preserving our green spaces.
Bret Baronak, Director of the Carolina Thread Trail, will deliver the keynote address, along with a Year of the Trail update from NC Year of the Trail Director Palmer McIntyre. Reserve your spot for the event and check out the tentative schedule, ending with an optional greenway tour.
