In preparation for Valentine’s Day, last week we asked youour readers with kids — how you manage to commemorate the day given the fact that tiny, adorable people make celebrating difficult. My friends with tweens say it’s nominally easier when those little folks become medium-sized people.

To help get y’all started, we offered our ideas, which included home cooked meals, flowers from Flora Asheville, or chocolates from French Broad Chocolate Factory.

Today, we wanted to share some of your responses. ⬇️

“We kind of dread going out because of finding a babysitter and the crowd, but our daughter’s preschool is offering some help with it. Trinity Preschool is offering childcare for kids of all ages on February 14th starting at 4:30 pm. They’re recommending a donation of $20 for the evening for the first child and an extra $10 for each child after that. Makes it a lot easier to swallow the bill for Valentine’s Day when childcare is that affordable!” –Tracy S.

“Everyone’s fav food …. Splurging on crab legs and lobster for me cause my boys boycott shellfish. Also my heart shaped cookie cutters come in handy.” – @teamwanless

“We celebrate (after 4 kids and 18 years together!) with love letters, a massage from and to each other and of course @frenchbroadchocolate ❤️❤️❤️ - usually at home.” – @greatestworth

“This year we are celebrating on Tuesday! We don’t have family nearby, and getting a sitter on V-D day is impossible.. so we are flipping the script. It’s just about taking a moment to observe and pay homage to our love.. so that’s easy enough. We will be trying out The Admiral in WAVL for the first time.” - Mary P.

“My favorite thing is to go have a romantic evening at Old Europe! The oldest (and best) coffee shop in Avl! The ambiance is PERFECT for Valentines Day. ❤️ ” - LD

Whether you have one, none, or multiple kids, we hope you have a spectacular Valentine’s Day.
