Working from home but itching to stay connected to cultural happenings? Our innovative arts community is stepping up to the social distancing plate. While you’re self-quarantining, you and your family can visit check out the latest happenings in our arts scene – including visiting our local museums and galleries, check out local live music, hear talks from area creatives + more.

Here are five virtual arts events + opportunities we’re excited about.

Asheville Art Museum | Experience panoramic gallery tours, collection + exhibition info, works of the week, kids’ activities + more.

Asheville Symphony | Listen in to their Symphony Sessions to hear collaborations with musicians like Free Planet Radio, Steep Canyon Rangers + Rising Appalachia.

Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center | Check out the latest exhibition, Question Everything: The Women of Black Mountain College, which includes visual art, films + oral histories, plus bios of the college’s leading ladies.

Creative Mornings AVL | Talks from local + regional community creatives + visionaries, including N.C. Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green, French Broad Chocolate founder Jael Rattigan + more.

Quarantine Concert Series | The Orange Peel and IamAvl have teamed up to livestream performances by local artists, happening every evening at 7 p.m. Shows include the perennially popular Tuesday Night Funk Jam.

You can even travel farther afield, too – because of stay-at-home orders and limits on gatherings, national + international orgs are offering virtual visits and events.
