Camp Bell @ Carolina Day School.

Now open for registration: Camp Bell at Carolina Day School, an interactive day camp with one-week or shorter sessions for students in kindergarten through 12th grade as well as a few classes that adults can participate in.

Classes cover topics from sports to science to art and are designed to build confidence and community. Many sessions are held multiple times throughout the summer.

Here are a few on our radar:

We are Vikings! | Grades K – 2 | Adventures of the Vikings, including history, runes, and making a longboat.

The Great Escape | Grades 3 – 6 | Solve live-action, team-based games in this interactive mystery story. 🔍

Stand-Up Comedy and Improvisation | Grades 6 – 8 | Theater games, character work + scene development with the Asheville Improv Collective 🎭

Pirates of the Appalachian | Grades K – 3 | Learn to build a telescope, create a pirate flag, and go on a treasure hunt. 🏴‍☠️

Chair Caning with Silver River Chairs | Grades 6 – 12 | Work with 4th generation chair caner Brandy Clements, owner of the only chair caning school + museum in the country, to learn to weave a chair seat using traditional methods. Clements also teaches “Lost Art of Caning,” a session for all ages (parents + children).

Wilderness First Responder Recertification Course | Ages 14 – 65 | A two-day intensive for people whose WFR certification is about to expire. 🌲

Classes start at $215. They fill up quickly; reserve a spot and set your summer adventure plans now.

Have questions? Call Jim “Goody” Goodrum at 828-274-0757 or email camp.bell@carolinaday.org.

FYI: As a child, Producer Ali attended several day camps through Camp Bell, where she built tables, learned about native flora and fauna and made weird papier mache masks. She is a big fan.
