Marisol Jimenez at Creative Mornings

DYK: One Friday morning each month, 200 Ashevillians gather to connect over coffee and gain inspiration from a leading artist, innovator, change agent, and/or community leader?

Each month’s CreativeMornings Asheville event is organized around a different one-word theme (IE ‘magic’, ‘time’, ‘love’), chosen by a different international chapter (Asheville will get our turn in a few years!).

Last month Asheville activist, advocate, and ally Marisol Jimenez took the stage and spoke on the topic of Community. She asked, “What does it take to rebuild community as a beautifully defiant act of resistance and a necessary tool in our collective survival?

Her spoken word performance will leave you inspired. It’s definitely a #MustWatch.

In her words: When we come together with our power, our resilience, and our resistance, we are a force.”

Talks are recorded and shared amongst the international community, similar to TEDx. Watch Marisol’s video (and all the others) here.

Set your calendars to get a free ticket for next month’s CreativeMornings, Monday, September 24th at 11 a.m. here. (And, if you don’t get a ticket, put your name down on the waitlist. They actually do pull from it.).
