Asheville Restaurant Week is almost here, running Tuesday, Jan. 20 through Monday, Jan. 26. More than 40 restaurants all over the city will be joining the culinary celebration with special deals and menus — so we’re serving up a taste of what’s to come, from oysters to fully-loaded subs.

Bonus: You’ll have another chance to dine on these deals when Asheville Restaurant Week returns for seconds: Tuesday, Feb. 17 through Monday, Feb. 23.

Ukiah Japanese Smokehouse | $40 per person
Dine on family-style dishes like salmon crispy rice, smoked pork shoulder with Kyoto-Carolina barbecue sauce, and coveted coconut cake baked from a family recipe.

Soprana | $33 per person
Head up to the rooftop restaurant for your choice of starter, personal pizza, and dessert (and great views, of course). Our picks would be the whipped ricotta, artichoke pizzette, and cannolis to round it out.

The Lobster Trap, 35 Patton Ave. | Three courses for $50
This three-course menu is a seafood lover’s dream — begin with fresh, coldwater oysters before making some tough decisions between dishes like crab cakes and mussels and scallops and a lobster roll. Pro tip: Every Tuesday is $1 oyster day.

Score a free app with the purchase of two entrees or sandwiches. The smoked salmon rangoons caught our eye.

Silverball Subs | Lunch combos
The winter warm-up combo gets you a whole warm sub, kettle chips, and a Boylan’s soda for $15.99 — if you’re a cold sub person, they have you covered there too. The local love lunch deal includes a whole cold sub + kettle chips for $13.49. Bonus: Service workers, teachers, healthcare workers, and emergency responders get an extra 15% off.

The restaurant and distillery are bringing back this dynamite deal with hearty options like smoked meatloaf topped with truffle gravy + fried shallots, or lighter fare, including a Greek-style lemon mint orzo with your choice of protein.
