Hendersonville Restaurant Week is in full swing through Saturday, March 24th.
DYK: This is the first time Hendersonville has celebrated a restaurant week.
📍Restaurants are in Hendersonville, Mills River + Flat Rock.
💸 Prix fixe menus will be offered at participating restaurants. Lunch is priced at $10 or $15, dinner at $20, $30, or $35. Multiple choices are offered for each course.
🍽 Reservations are recommended. You can make them online via OpenTable on the Hendersonville Restaurant Week site or call the restaurant to book your seat at the table.
📷 Keep track of everything delicious you try on social media using #hendersonvillerw and tagging @hendersonvillerestaurantweek on Instagram.
🌼 Bonus: A portion of proceeds from the prix fixe menus will go to Dandelion , a restaurant in downtown Hendersonville (at 127 5th Ave. W.), which provides internships and job training for victims of violence.
In need of a real getaway from the “big city”? Here are some protips:
🚗 Arrive in style: An Uber from downtown Asheville to downtown Hendersonville will run you around $30-40.
🏨 Stay a while: If you really want to make a night (or a weekend) of it, rates for Hendersonville hotels start at around $70 for a double-occupancy room on Hotels.com . A few inns are also offering special deals , like discounted rates, free nights, or extra features like complimentary wine tastings, during the week. Airbnbs, like this adorable bungalow , cost an average of about $150 per night.
It all looks good, but here are four tasting menu combos we’d go for:
Flat Rock Wood Room | Lunch | $15
Pear and Bleu Cheese Salad
Wood Room Brisket Stack Sandwich
Creme Brulee
Never Blue | Dinner | $20 (vegetarian option)
Gypsy Cheese
Beans and Rice
Gnocchi
Creme Brulee with Mermaid or Unicorn fudge
The Dugout | Dinner | $30
Fried Green Stacker
Seafood Linguini Pasta
Peanut Butter Magic Cake
Postero | Dinner | 3 courses for $35
Carrot Hummus
Lamb Merguez
Roasted Banana Ice Box Pie
We also got an exclusive scoop from Asheville-based food blogger Mali C. (@emporiumofyum ), who got to preview Hendersonville Restaurant Week early, about what we should be most excited about. Her favorite overall? Postero. The most surprising (in a good way) of the menus? The Dugout.
