Recently, we put out a call on Instagram, asking you all to tell us which local accounts we should be following. More than 1,000 comments later, we rounded up a handful of users that you helped put on our radar. So, let’s spice up our feed together.

Asheville Camera Club | @ashevillecameraclub
This club celebrates the creativity of local amateur and professional photographers with monthly meetups meant for discussion, sharing, and shooting. Check out the zine they released in March, “Chromatic Aberration Vol. 1,” with proceeds helping fund the production of volume two.

Cook With K | @cookwithk_candler
Co-owners Marcella and Jack Kirakossian want you to “eat what makes you happy” — and they can teach you how to cook what makes you happy with classes in their more than 100-year-old farmhouse. Plus, stay on the lookout for the Dinner With Strangers series, where folks may arrive as strangers but leave as friends.

Holler & Crow | @hollerandcrow
The ensemble describes its sound as “cottagecore folk fusion magic” and “Shire-ish,” so obviously, we immediately hit the follow button. The WNC-based band has several Asheville shows coming up, but you can also support its Song-A-Month recording project on Patreon.

Element Tree Essentials | @shopelementtree
The shop at 18 Wall St. is known for its lotion candles. Just light, dip, and use the scented melted wax to moisturize. For a peek behind the curtain at how the candles are made, give the brand a follow.

Sweet Snail | @sweet.snail.nails
Step up your nail game with these creatively customized press-ons. From “Adventure Time” to “Sanrio"-inspired sets, see what Sweet Snail dreams up next — then send a DM for a custom set.

The Maker’s Moment | @themakersmoment
Dive into this local podcast to hear artists explore the creative process. There are more than 15 episodes out for you to listen to, including season one of the podcast, “The Women of Western North Carolina.”

Sew AVL | @sew_avl
Karmen Milham’s slow fashion pieces and designs are sew cute. Follow along on Instagram to see how the clothes are made, then head to her store at 56 S. Lexington Ave., Ste. 101 to shop clothing decked out in appliques and embroidery, or bring in your own item to be repaired or embellished.

Green Mountain Space Professional Organizing | @greenmountainspace
If “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo” is your jam, this one’s for you. Follow along with the organizing service as it tackles projects for homes and businesses alike (and offers decluttering tips).

Tiny Gallery East | @tiny_gallery_east
Built by Margaret Cogswell and located at 145 Bell Rd., this bite-sized art gallery regularly gets restocked with new works from local artists. On Sunday, May 5, artist Gláucia Mir will showcase their art with a wine and cheese opening at 5 p.m.

Lamplight AVL | @theresidencyat821
The arts-based nonprofit hosts artists-in-residency programs to help share creative + innovative works within the community. You can check out the galleries at 821 Haywood Rd., but be sure to follow along on Instagram to be the first to know about them.
