It’s the United States’ 245th birthday — and whether you’re looking for a classic fireworks show, great beer, or live music, Asheville is full of events to help you celebrate Fourth of July this Sunday.
If you want a classic experience:
- Check out the City of Asheville’s annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration at Pack Square Park (121 College Street ), which kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with tunes from DJ Nex Millen and finishes with a fireworks display at approx. 9:30 p.m.
- For family-friendly fun, try Buncombe’s annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration at Lake Julian Park (27 Lake Julian Rd. ). The park opens at 8 a.m. for disc golf, cornhole, sand volleyball, and more, plus there will be food trucks + live music from local bluegrass band Supper Break . Be sure to arrive by 7:45 if you want seats for the 9:15 fireworks show.

If you want something low-key:
- Check out Twisted Laurel’s (130 College St. ) July 4th Viewing Party from 8 p.m.-12 a.m. Tickets for patio seats (which run $30/seat) must be reserved in advance by calling (828)515-4151.
If you love beer:
- Head to Highland Brewing Co.’s (12 Old Charlotte Hwy., Ste. 200 ) free Red, White, and Brew from 12-7 p.m for music from Jackson Grimm & The One String Band + Pleasure Chest , plus food trucks and beer.

If you want a show:
- Try Salvage Station’s July 4th Jam (468 Riverside Dr. ). The lineup includes The Fritz , The Get Right Band , and Jeff Santiago & Los Gatos and kicks off at 4:30 p.m.Tickets are $20 in advance and $27 day of show.
- Taylor Martin & The Song Dogs will also perform at One World Brewing West (520 Haywood Rd. ) from 5-9 p.m. Tickets are $5.
If you want something philanthropic:
- Register for the 5th Annual July 4th Freedom Gala by Wed., June 30 to support Consider Haiti at the Patton Parker House (95 Charlotte St .) Festivities include bike rides + barbecue from Chop Shop Butchery . ProTip: If you want alcohol, this event is BYOB.
