Asheville Glamping

Asheville Glamping offers camping accommodations combined with the amenities + comforts of a traditional hotel, like an actual bed, a refrigerator, and electricity — all within 20 minutes of Asheville. With tree houses, tent cabins, vintage trailers, and domes across three different property sites, it’s all about t’s all about making nature as cozy as possible.

JuneBug Retro Resort

Located on 50 acres five minutes from Weaverville’s Main Street, you’ll find 10 vintage 1950s- and ’60s-era campers tricked out with things like beds, full bathrooms, and range cooktops. Oh, and all camper rentals include day use of the resort’s stunning treehouse. Pro tip: JuneBug’s season runs from May-October, so you have plenty of time to plan your escape.

HOBBIT

Hobbit Knoll

Inspired by best-selling author JRR Tolkien’s beloved Lord of the Rings fantasy series, this 800-sqft hobbit hole in Woodfin brings Middle Earth to the 828. It includes one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen, and its main attraction, a handmade round mahogany + wrought iron door created by a local woodworker. Bonus: The home is 90% underground, just like Bilbo’s.

Mount Mitchell Eco Retreat

This natural estate — located on a former 28-acre dude ranch in the Burnsville area — offers 16 rooms with views of Mt. Mitchell, plus spa services, fire pits, and more. And come 2022, the retreat will also open an organic food market, greenhouse, and meditation garden. Pro tip: The retreat is currently offering special rates for November-April.

Treetop Tipi

You can practically kiss the sky at this fully-insulated 400-sqft treetop retreat, which features three beds, a propane cooktop, handcrafted chairs, a full bathroom, a picnic table, and a communal fire-pit area. And when you’re ready to come back to earth, you’ll find restaurants, shopping + more in nearby downtown Marshall, just two minutes away.

Yin Yurt

This luxury yurt, located in Haywood County along the Pigeon River at Wildcat Ridge Farm arguably the largest peony farm in the state — you’ll find a wholly incomparable escape. It features one bedroom (with a bed + sleeper sofa that sleeps up to four), a dining area, a full kitchen with a breakfast bar, a full bath, a wraparound deck, and a garden fire-pit. Oh, and because it’s owned by Chef Ricardo Fernandez Battini and his wife, Suzanne, you can also enjoy special private three-course dinners to celebrate your stay.
