Biltmore Village was hit especially hard by Helene, but the area is slowly springing back to life, bolstered by community support and resilience. Vanessa Salamo, co-owner of Corner Kitchen and board member of the Historic Biltmore Village Association, said the group hopes that 60% of Biltmore Village businesses will reopen by October.
Businesses like New Morning Gallery, Monkee’s, Zen Skincare, Hillman Beer, and the Grand Bohemian Lodge are open and encouraging visitors.
But while the area works toward that 60% milestone, businesses still need your support. Here’s how you can support Biltmore Village shops — whether they’re rebuilding, relocating, or offering online shopping.
Retail
Gardener’s Cottage | Attend the shop’s Thursday, Sept. 4 grand reopening to find the perfect planters, thoughtful gifts, and unique home decor pieces.
Origami Ink | The online shop is stocked with all the journals, stationery, and calligraphy tools your heart desires. Order a pack of thank-you notes to have on deck.
Scout Boutique | Stunt out on the town in a custom handmade jacket from the boutique’s online shop — Editor Grace loves the Heritage Dragon jacket with a red collar.
Bette Boutique | For stylish women’s fashions from brands like Xirena, MOTHER Denim, and AGOLDE, head to the store’s new location in Grove Arcade.
Casablanca Cigar Bar | The bar offers cigars and accessories online in addition to having a humidor at Wall Street Market.
Dwellings | While the furniture store permanently closed following the storm’s wreckage, the team has begun a new journey, launching Grounded Interiors. Follow their journey as the crew creates a new furniture showroom at 240 Biltmore Ave.
Restaurants
Corner Kitchen | While the cherished local restaurant rebuilds, you can savor a scrumptious meal at its sister restaurant, Chestnut. Corner Kitchen’s reopening timeline is still TBD, but the team is fortifying the space with heartfelt memories, sealing time capsules into the new walls.
Finch Grocery | The store’s fresh lunch fare, delightful sweet treats, and stunning selection of home decor and regional treasures quickly made it a village favorite — and its September reopening is hotly anticipated. In the meantime, inquire about catering or order a picnic basket for the next outdoor concert at the Asheville Museum of History.
Andaaz | The Indian eatery has a sister restaurant downtown, Laila. And don’t sleep on the lunch buffet.
Moe’s Original BBQ | The barbecue joint is no longer, but owner Jeremy LaRochelle is still in the culinary game, opening his Beefie Boys food truck this month. Expect Chicago Italian beef, pastrami, and corned beef reuben sandwiches.
Well-Bred | The bakery permanently closed its Biltmore Village location, but you can still indulge in breakfast burritos, flaky pastries, and seasonal salads at its Weaverville location and Reems Creek food truck.
