Glamour on Board Titanic

AVLtoday

For over two years the, staff at Biltmore Estate has been planning the Glamour on Board: Fashion from Titanic The Movie exhibition.

More than 45 costumes and a total of 511 objects from the Titanic set, hand-picked from Fox Studios in L.A., have been blended into the specific rooms of the house, (basically, where travelers sporting this style wardrobe would have fit).

You can see everything from Rose’s opening scene hat and the captain’s outfit – to some of Cal Hockley’s signature suites and Ros’es intricate gold-beaded robe. Plus, a replica of the Sapphire necklace.
George, Edith and Cornelia Vanderbilt were supposed to be on the Titanic.

After spending a winter in Paris, the family had plans to board the Titanic, however, the family felt homesick and returned to Biltmore by sailing on the Olympic instead. They returned about a week before the tragedy took place.

🎬 We toured the exhibition last week + compiled some of our favorites here.
🗓️ You can see it until Mid-May, with the price of Biltmore Estate entrance.
