Near the end of May Asheville celebrated the 6th Annual Asheville Food Truck Showdown at the WNC Ag. Center. A total of 18 local food trucks gathered + competed on a sunny Saturday in May, but only three of them were able to take home a prize.

This year, Bun Intended was crowned Best Overall Food Truck, Root Down took home People’s Choice, and Mountain View BBQ & Deli is the 2019 VIP Taster’s Choice.🏆

It can come as a shock to many of us Ashevillians that there are over 30 local food trucks in the area – yes, that’s a lot. Which is why here at AVLtoday, we want to help strengthen the food truck community by bringing together the hungry foodies in Asheville.

And to do that, we need our lovely readers to get involved. Yep, this is where you come in. What do you want to know about how food trucks work and how our local food truck founders got started? Plus, we want you to share your ideas on how the food truck community can become more interactive in the city, and how Ashevillians can get more involved with food trucks. From questions on daily operations, ideas for a common meeting place + more – share your thoughts with us.

Bonus: Stay tuned as Kyle + Carter from Bun Intended answer your questions and provide the 411 on what it’s like to run a food truck. And, ICYMI here is our spring/summer food truck roundup to get you through the end of summer. 🥙
