Last year may have been a bust, but 2021 is coming on strong with brand new + returning events — the most exciting of which is Asheville’s grand culinary extravaganza, Chow Chow . And today, we’re bringing you a sneak peek at what you can expect from the second iteration of the city’s most fabulous fête before the schedule and tickets become public tomorrow, April 15, at 9 a.m.

Slated to take place from June 27–Sept. 26, this year’s Chow Chow will take place over 3 months and feature 30+ immersive events, including in-person signature events, as well as corresponding virtual classes, demos, and workshops.

Why the change? In addition to accommodating coronavirus safety concerns, organizers are working to address the community feedback they received after the festival’s inaugural 2019 event and are looking to bring more equity + accessibility to everyone, tourists and locals alike. There are also pricing tiers — ranging from $15, $50, $75, $125, and $200 — so that folks of all means can partake.

And while we can’t give away the whole guest list yet, we can let you know that the following culinary greats will be on hand, including familiar faces from Cúrate , French Broad Chocolate Lounge , Wicked Weed Brewing , Jettie Rae’s Oyster House , Urban Orchard Cider Co. , and Forestry Camp .

Asheville Chefs Silver Cousler (the powerhouse behind Neng Jr’s , Asheville’s first Filipinx restaurant slated to open this summer), Ashleigh Shanti, Benne on Eagle ’s former Chef de Cuisine, and Cooking with Comedy ’s Clarence Robinson are also some of the culinary movers + shakers you’ll encounter, along with so many more.
