Hey AVL, question for you: If you had the support + the funding, what education initiative would you want to get off the ground?

That’s exactly the question that First Bank wants to answer with Project Launch, their new multifaceted initiative that kicked off earlier this month.

Want more details? Here’s how it works.

What is Project Launch?

The goal of Project Launch is to improve and support learning and create more educational opportunities for people right here in our community. Through a combination of giveaways, mentorship, coaching + more, Project Launch will join forces with community members who have amazing ideas that just need a lift.

Starting now through the end of the year, Ashevilians are invited to enter their ideas for a chance to win coaching sessions, helping hands, financial support + more to bring their education project to life.

Am I eligible to enter?

Anyone in North + South Carolina can enter. Winners will be selected once a month, and will receive funds to help get their education-focused projects launched. They will also work with a First Bank associate, who will provide mentorship, financial coaching + an extra set of hands as needed. Entries are open through Sat., Dec. 17.

What else is Project Launch doing?

A key part of Project Launch is also building out First Bank’s Learning Lab. Learning Lab is a set of virtual education courses for teenagers who want to learn about budgeting, investing + saving.

Later on this year, Project Launch will also give special awards to educators + announce further partnerships with nonprofits. In total, Project Launch will give away $500,000.*

First Bank is a Member FDIC. See the Project Launch Terms and Conditions for additional details.
