New Year’s resolutions in Asheville, NC

New Year’s resolutions are… how do we put this…

Let’s just say they can be a challenge. But whether you love them (e.g. wake up early enough to get pastries from OWL Bakery on Saturday mornings) or hate them (e.g. finally hiking to the top of Mt. Mitchell), resolutions are a great way to refocus your goals for the new year. As for us…

City Editor Laura here, and I want to spend more time exploring the incredible outdoor rec that our city has to offer. While I’ve hiked my fair share of Pisgah National Forest and often frequent the greenways on my commuter bike, I’d love to dive more into adventurous outings like kayaking, rock climbing, and mountain biking (looking at you, Riveter). I’ve also recently been taking classes at Asheville Yoga Center over these past few months, so if you have a favorite yoga experience, let me know.

City Editor Brook, and my goal is to read some Pulitzer Prize-winning pieces of literature. Naturally, I’ll be stopping by my favorite independent bookseller Malaprops to pick up the books, some tasty coffee drinks, and whatever other fun little trinkets I find along the way.

Of course, our resolution at AVLtoday is to continue educating + activating our community by providing you with the most relevant local content in the city. That’s where you come in. Let us know what you want to hear in the new year — we look forward to supporting your 2022 goals.
