Park ‘n’ Charge

City adds charging stations to Asheville garages

Credit: City of Asheville

Asheville just got a little more green – and convenient if you own an electric vehicle. You can now charge up at three parking garages in downtown Asheville.

The locations are:

Charging at both Wall St. and Rankin Ave. is free + takes around 4 hours for full charge. These charging stations are owned by the City of Asheville.

The Biltmore Ave. station is owned by the private company Brightfield TS, which also owns the charging station outside of Earth Fare in South Asheville, both of which charge for a charge. (Sorry, we had to). A typical station charge costs around $3. 💰

To charge your vehicle, all you need is a free ChargePoint card (there’s also an app you can use in lieu of the card). Any station that charges a fee will either bill you or deduct the funds from the balance you have in your ChargePoint account. 📍Bonus: It will also locate the charging stations in town.
