Earlier this year, the local pros at Coldwell Banker King answered your real estate questions — addressing topics from affordability to closing costs to inventory of homes on the market.

Now that it’s officially summer, we wanted to check back in with CB King’s real estate professionals and get an update on the state of the market here in Asheville. Here’s what they had to say:

Q: What is the state of the real estate market right now?

A: Amidst a global pandemic, the real estate market is staying strong, reflecting an increase in sales prices and the number of homes sold.

Q: What challenges are buyers and sellers facing?

A: While low interest rates and remote work opportunities are driving buyers to purchase, the lack of inventory is making it more difficult, resulting in bidding wars and over-asking price sales numbers for sellers.

Q: What advice do you have for those looking to buy or sell a home?

A: If you are in the market to buy or sell, using a trusted real estate agent to guide you throughout the process is key as the market is ever-changing and at a fast pace.
