Gyms + fitness studios are cleared to reopen once NC enters Gov. Cooper’s third phase of reopening, but Phase 2 has been extended until July 17. We asked y’all where we could go for outdoor workouts, and as usual, y’all had the scoop. To kick off the seventh month of this year (how is that even possible?), we’re looking at where you can go to safely get your outdoor sweat on, because moving your body is vital to your physical + mental health. Protip: This list is based on your feedback, so make sure to check the comments (or add your own) for even more additions.

💪 9Round North Asheville, 61 N. Merrimon Ave., Ste. 105

Head to New Bridge Baptist Church (199 Elkwood Ave.) for HIIT workouts Tues. + Thurs. evenings at 6 p.m., and Weds., Fri., and Sat. mornings at 9 a.m. Follow 9Round on social media to keep up with their schedule + locations. These workouts are free to everyone, members or not.

💪 Beer City CrossFit, 70 Westside Dr.

See their outdoor workouts for members here (which are typically offered four to five days per week) and be sure to reserve your spot if you want to join in.

💪 CrossFit Pisgah, 151 W. Haywood St.

From Monday through Friday, they’re offering three to four daily outdoor classes for members. RSVP online to attend.

💪 Further Wellness, 900 Hendersonville Rd #101B

In addition to personal training and health + style consulting, they plan to offer one of their “Further Formula” classes — a total body workout combining high intensity cardio and bodyweight resistance strength-training — each weekend until they can open their doors. People can email or DM them on Instagram to let them know they are coming.

💪 Ladies Workout Asheville, 802 Fairview Rd.

These outdoor group classes include strength, deep fiber core, and durability, all of which are available for single sessions ($20) or in packs of five ($70), or 10 ($100).

💪 Well.Fit, 239 S. Liberty St.

While members can partake in virtual and on-demand classes, new clients can take advantage of free classes from July 1-7, which include virtual + outdoor offerings.

💪 YMCA of WNC, 40 N. Merrimon Ave., Ste. 309

Since June 1, various locations have offered 30+ weekly outdoor + swim-related group classes, including yoga, barre, and more. Pre-registration is required. While classes are for members, you can also access some workouts on their social media.
