#MustRead: Top five stories from May

How to make the most of your morning

Here in the office, we were just commenting on how fast time flies. Hello, June. 👋 Thanks for being with us for the 82 emails, hundreds of Instagram photos, thousands of Tweets, and many, many Facebook comments. Plus, to everyone who says hi to us while we’re out reppin’ in the #828.

Safe to say we’re grateful for the love you’ve given us, the questions you have asked, events you have shared + clicks you’ve given. Whether this is your first email ever (welcome to the fam👋) or have been with us since February, we hope you are enjoying all the fun + news we share.

Now, to recap the month of May here are our top 5 stories of the month. Perfect catch up time for all you newbies out there. And, if you are die-hard AVLtoday follower, pass these stories to a friend. ➡ 💌

  1. From pools to swimming holes: 15+ swimming spots to cool you down – We covered some of the (not-so-secret) swimming holes, best lake spots + community pools in and around Asheville.
  2. Stu’s ultimate list of outside eats (for people who don’t like the sun) – Stu Helm, Food Fan, doesn’t like the sun (no really, he says it hurts him). So, he made a list of the perfect shady spots to eat outside.
  3. Here’s your first look at Chihuly at Biltmore – Earlier this month we went for a premier viewing of the Chihuly at Biltmore. It was absolutely breathtaking. This is the largest exhibition in its historic gardens and you can read about some of Dale Chihuly’s glass sculptures here.
  4. Your guide to South Asheville – Our Multimedia Producer, Ali, is a South Asheville native and she rounded up a list of great things to check out in one of the most underrated parts of town.
  5. Meet the businesses of Asheville – We scoped out businesses in Asheville who are large and bringing a strong economic impact to AVL, those who are small start-ups + those who are on Inc. 5000 list Fastest Growing Businesses.

Honestly, I am amazed that it’s already June. New Years, our launch party, Easter + my birthday flew by in a blink of an eye. At least I think so.

So thankful to be a part of the AVLtoday team and meeting so many of you who are just as passionate about Asheville as I am.

Looking forward to all the great things we will get to share with y’all this summer.

TGIF Asheville,

–Audra
