10 coffee shops not to miss in Asheville

Summit Coffee Co.

Table of Contents

When I first moved to AVL for UNC Asheville, I was amazed at how there is virtually a coffee shop on almost every corner (the convenience is a luxury, y’all). Now, my feat which once was getting out of my dorm room, has turned into getting out of the office. Here are 8 go-tos for getting. sh*t. done. (And staying caffeinated).

River Arts District

☕️ Summit Coffee Co.

🗓️Mon - Thurs. : 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Fri.: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Sat.: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Sun.: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

📍4 Foundy St.

Summit’s large room is filled with community tables and a high-top bar bringing coziness throughout. Grab a house drip or specialty latte. 👌

☕️ Ultra Coffeebar

🗓️Mon. -Fri.: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sat. + Sun.: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

📍242 Clingman Ave.

Pro-tip: Stop in for breakfast/lunch for Avocado Toast, BEC bagel, lunch wraps or a panini sandwich.

West Asheville

☕️ Izzy’s Coffee House

🗓️Mon. -Fri: 7:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Sat. + Sun.: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

📍976 Haywood Rd.
☕️Flora Asheville
🗓️Wed.-Sat. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sun.-Tues. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
📍428 Haywood Rd.
Flora doubles as a plant store. Aesthetic goals.

Bonus: Beer + wine. Need we say more?

☕️ Odd’s Cafe

🗓️ Everyday: 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.

📍800 Haywood Rd.

Best part: on warmer days Odd’s opens the two garages in both the front + back of the cafe. Oh, and homemade quiche.

Downtown

☕️ High Five Coffee

🗓️Everyday: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.

📍190 Broadway St. + 13 Rankin St.

The Broadway location has the most parking (across the street) + space to spread out in. The Rankin location is bustling + busy with great people watching. 👍

☕️ The Rhu

🗓️Wed.-Mon.: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Tues.: CLOSED

📍10 S Lexington Ave.

For those who love Rhubarb, The Rhu is a cafe + bakery that celebrates the joy of food and community (just like Rhbuarb). In addition to a ton of seating + a lunch menu, it’s the perfect spot for Instagramin’, with killer two-level views of downtown.

☕️ Trade and Lore Coffee

🗓️Tues. -Thurs.: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Fri.-Mon.: 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.

📍37 Wall St.

Bonus: You can catch local artist Michael Provard most days sitting in the sun + working.

North Asheville

☕️ Edna’s of Asheville IS NOW CLOSED AS OF 2/21/2018

🗓️Everyday: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

📍870 Merrimon Ave.

☕️Filo Cafe
🗓️ Mon.-Fri 7 a.m. – 12 a.m.; Sat. 8 a.m. – 12 a.m.; Sun. 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
📍1155 Tunnel Rd.
European cakes, pastries + other baked goods. 🎂Lots of tables, a fireplace for the winter + patio area for the summer. Plus - Edna’s a full breakfast + lunch menu.
