ACSC 2019

One of the best parts of spring weather here in Asheville is the spring sports season. Asheville City Soccer Club is gearing up for the start of their third season with a full line up of home games for soccer fans to enjoy. ⚽

Opening weekend is next weekend (April 26-27) at Memorial Stadium with the women’s team playing Friday at 7 p.m. + the men’s team on Saturday at 7 p.m. A full season schedule for both teams can be found here.

Tickets this year are $5 for youth + $10 for adults. Season ticket packages starting at $129 are available as well. A purchase of a season ticket package gets you access to all men + women’s home games, plus a limited edition ACSC Nike Jersey. And, as part of the Just Play initiative, a local child receives a soccer ball for every jersey purchased. 🙌

ICYMI, the Just Play initiative is how ACSC gives back to the community. This program was started to broaden access to soccer in the city + break down systemic barriers to American soccer. Through Just Play, youth in the community get the chance to connect with role models + learn the joy of the game.

As for who you’ll see out on the field, a complete roster of players has not been posted, but there will be some returning faces – as well as some new ones wearing blue.

The ACSC men’s team is part of the The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) + the South East Conference with teams from cities like Chattanooga, Greenville, Atlanta + Nashville. This season they have eight home games on the schedule with the first one against the Tri-City FC Otters.

The women’s team has brought on a new head coach for the 2019 season, Lisa-Marie Woods from Oslo, Norway. This is the second year for the ACSC women’s team. As part of the Women’s Premier Soccer League + the Carolina’s South Division, they’ll compete against teams from cities such as Hilton Head, Rock Hill + Charleston. They also have eight home games scheduled with the first one against the Columbus Eagles FC.

And If you attend a game, you will see Hi-Wire Brewing’s name across each player’s jersey since they are the official title sponsor. Hi-Wire provides support to the club + beer for the fans. 🍻 We’ll cheers to that.

Follow ACSC on Facebook + Instagram to stay up to date all season long.
