In the aftermath of Helene, the Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County has been awarding funds to storm-damaged historic properties, helping our area sustain our heritage and sense of place through the disaster. And with an anonymous donation of $150,000, PSABC announced a new grant round to continue restoration work in Biltmore Village, using the funds to award six grants of $25,000.

This new round builds on the spring’s Helene Recovery Grant round, which awarded $275,000 to 50 historic homes and businesses from the RAD to Beacon Village. “Securing this funding for Biltmore Village will allow us to continue supporting businesses in one of the hardest hit, but most critical economic areas in our city,” PSABC’s Communication Coordinator Catherine Amos said in a press release.

Applications for this round of Biltmore Village grants are open through Monday, Dec. 1.

You can support the society’s work by celebrating the season in style at the Zealandia Holiday Party. Head to the showstopping, historic home for the festivities on Thursday, Dec. 11.
