Hey batter, batter… it’s Audra. Spring is here and March Madness is almost over – which means baseball season is just around the corner. The Asheville Tourists’ Opening Day is exactly one week from today. And, if that didn’t get you excited, they have 140 games lined up this season with 70 of them coming to McCormick Field for local fans to enjoy. ⚾

The 2019 season opener is against the Augusta GreenJackets. The first homestand will run from April 4-10. You will definitely catch me there. A complete schedule of all their games (home + away) can be found here.

This year, tickets start at $6.50. Additionally, the Tourists offer various types of promos throughout each week, including: BOGO ticket Tuesdays for Ingles Advantage members, Goodwill Wednesdays (get a free ticket if you bring three gently used items), Thirsty Thursdays (hello, $1 beers ) + Dollar Dog Fridays with Fireworks after every Friday home game.

The Tourists have a few themed nights up their sleeves as well, including Star Wars Night (May 4), Beer City Tourists (May 30), a Fourth of July Celebration (July 3) + Asheville Hippies (July 11). 🎆

While a complete roster of the team hasn’t been announced, there are going to be a lot of new faces wearing Tourists uniforms this year.

And, for all you food fans – there will be a few new menu items such as pickle fries, loaded helmet ribbon fries, helmet nachos + smoked bone-in rib tips. Okay, my mouth is watering. 🌭
