Ace & Eagle is here to help you with your swing and your serve. The new sports club has partnered with Hi-Wire’s RAD Beer Garden to bring four to six golf and multi-sport simulators and three full-size outdoor pickleball courts to the taproom.

The virtual reality gear should be ready for play by mid-September, with the potential for the pickleball courts to open up even sooner, according to co-owner Nick Hinton. It’s a project he’s been wanting to bring to life for years, combining his background in running a real estate business and passion for playing tournament golf. And with the number of golf options dwindling after Helene, he thought now was the perfect time to rebuild community around the sport.

Beyond playing a casual game of pickleball with friends or working on your drive solo, Ace & Eagle plans to offer the opportunity to play in leagues and participate in challenges — think: closest to the pin or longest drive. The sports club will also serve as a place to catch a weekend football or basketball game and sip on a cold beer.

Memberships to the club will be dropping soon, including deals from Hi-Wire, guaranteed simulator or court time, and even access to a real-life Ace & Eagle golf tournament at the Country Club of Asheville. There will also be hourly play available.

These sporty new additions complement the selection of games the RAD taproom already has, including ping pong, corn hole, and shuffleboard. Hinton told AVLtoday he hopes that the partnership will drum up some excitement and bring more people out to the brewery after its recent reopening.
