Goodbye to The Bywater as we know it

The Bywater (796 Riverside Dr.), a private club open since 2010, has announced it will close the doors of its bar this Sunday, Jan. 5. Named The World’s Greatest Bar” by Paste Magazine in 2015, it’s been a River Arts District destination for years.

Owner James Rogers says he wants to focus on private events, which possibly includes some music festivals. Rogers also wants to do more fundraising for local groups – as well as a potential tailgate market. Read his full statement here.
